Learning how to prepare stocks is a great basic kitchen skill as you can use the stocks which you create in order to take your stews, soups, and risottos to the next level. As stock adds well-needed flavor to any dish.

Learn how to effortlessly prepare eggs, rice, and pasta

It’s also a wise idea to learn how to boil and poach an egg perfectly and how to perfectly cook rice and pasta. As you’ll be able to use these skills on a frequent basis.

Practice baking a simple chocolate cake

If you’re also interested in learning how to bake proficiently, it’s a great idea to practice baking a simple, chocolate cake. So that you’ll have a go-to recipe to follow when it’s a family member’s birthday or you plan on hosting guests for dinner.
