If you plan on exploring New York in the near future and are curious about which famous attractions are well worth adding to your trip itinerary, simply continue reading. To discover some of the top rated sites in the big apple.

Central Park

Central Park is arguably the most famous inner city park in the world and is the most filmed location in the world. Central Park boasts an ice skating rink, a lake, two indoor restaurants, a historic carousel, a seasonal amusement park, a swimming pool, and 26 baseball courts. If you enjoy theater, it’s well worth trying to get tickets to the outdoor Shakespeare performances which are held on an open air stage during the warm summer months. Especially as noted actors usually take on the lead roles.

Times Square

Times Square is known for its bright flashing lights and Broadway shows. If attending a Broadway performance is on your bucket list, make sure to visit Times Square on your upcoming trip to NYC.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art features classical Greek and Roman art, medieval artwork, European sculptures, Asian art, Islamic art, and contemporary art and is considered one of the most prestigious art museums in the world. It even offers an exhibition which features ancient Egyptian art. If you have a keen interest in art, you’ll easily be able to spend a full day exploring The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The Empire State Building

The Empire State Building which has featured in each iteration of King Kong was constructed from 1930-1931 and is a 102 storey art deco building which towers over central New York. When it was first built, the Empire State Building held the title of being the tallest skyscraper in the world. A title it eventually lost to the World Trade Center which opened in 1970. If you’d love to see a bird’s eye view of New York, make sure to head up to the viewing platform, which is located on the 86th floor.

The High Line

The High Line is one of New York’s most underrated attractions and is a grassy elevated park which is 1.4 miles long and was built on a repurposed railway line. If you want to get away from the hustle of bustle of downtown New York in order to enjoy a bit of calm and tranquility, it’s definitely well worth taking a leisurely walk along the High Line. Especially as it is home to a wide selection of food vendors and often features live music from talented local performers.

Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York’s most distinctive landmarks and was originally opened in 1883. At the time Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world. One of the best ways to experience the charm of Brooklyn Bridge is by foot as it offers a pedestrian bridge which you can walk across.

So if you plan on exploring all that NYC has to offer and are excited about putting together an actioned packed trip itinerary, it’s well worth adding all of the sites listed above to your itinerary.
