There is something rather magical about the interior of homes that Royalty live in. Whilst we all can’t live and act like Royals, we can make our homes seem like they are rather regal and that would have royal approval. Here are some top tips on how to achieve a home which is fit for a King and Queen.
Use metallic colours and Royal blue
If you have ever been inside a palace, you will have noticed that lots of gold and silver colours are in the palace’s colour scheme. Whilst they will have used genuine gold and silver in their interiors, we can fake it by using gold and silver-plated items.
Royal blue is also a colour to keep in mind, there is a reason why royal blue is called royal blue and that is because the shade of blue was created for a competition to make a dress for Queen Charlotte, the consort of King George III.
Reds and Purples are also frequently used by the interior designers of the British Royal Family. It is a good idea to choose your favourite Royal and then look at the colours that are used within their homes and take some inspiration from there.
Have desirable flooring
This is a must, if you are looking to have a perfect looking interior. Whilst it is impossible to recreate the exact style and type of flooring the Royal Family has, we have the freedom to choose both stylish and sophisticated flooring that I’m sure the Queen may like the look of. Underfoot Flooring is a good place to look, because their collections boast of many different styles and materials of flooring, so you can’t go wrong by starting your search there.
Have a four-poster bed
In fairy tales and in Disney films the Prince and Princess always seems to sleep in a four-poster bed, unless they are Cinderella of course. Four-poster beds are still popular in modern times and they add a touch of elegance and class to a room, this is definitely something to consider when you are about to restyle your bedroom.
Have long draping curtains
Every palace in the world seems to have rooms which have long draping curtains. Although curtains are not as popular as they used to be, they can still add vintage glamour to a room and you can also use them for a functional purpose i.e blocking daylight and keeping heat in a room.
Have a fruit bowl on display
In every high-end home, there is always a fruit bowl on display. This is probably the most simple step of adding royal glamour to a home. If you don’t think you will eat enough fruit to keep topping up the fruit bowl, then faux fruit will give a just as good effect.
Have lots of artwork on the walls
Artwork is almost a necessity if you are trying to make your home look rather regal. Although most of us do not have the budget to purchase genuine artwork that is created by world famous artists. However, there are many independent artists that’s work that are just as good as artwork from bigger names from around the world. Choose your artwork carefully and look at the type of art that suits your home interior.
Have lots of artwork in general
Sculptures and other forms of art help to give a lavish look to a home interior. You could even create your own pieces of art for your own fun and you will feel a sense of accomplishment from creating your own unique forms of art.
